One year ago, on September 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk was assassinated while speaking on a college campus.
A husband lost his wife. Children lost their father. And a movement lost its founder.
And our country witnessed another horrifying act of political violence.
On the one-year anniversary of Charlie’s death, I don’t want to spend the day arguing on social media.
I want to fast. I want to pray. And I want to seek God.
And I’m inviting you to join me.
Beginning at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 9, I’ll enter a 24-hour fast. OR, You can do the Lite Version starting at 8:00 AM. Either way, will be a rewarding experience for us as we remember Charlie.
We’ll finish at 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 10.
Throughout September 10, I’ll send you short prayer prompts and Scripture to help us intentionally seek God together.
We’ll pray for:
Erika Kirk.
Charlie and Erika’s children.
Those carrying forward the organization and movement Charlie began.
Young men and women across America.
The Church.
Our nation’s leaders.
Our country.
An end to political hatred and violence.
And yes…
We’ll pray for the man accused of killing Charlie.
Because Jesus didn’t tell us to pray only for people we agree with.
He said:
“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
— Matthew 5:44
It’s about something much bigger.
It’s about remembering a life that was taken.
It’s about praying for a family that continues to live with that loss.
It’s about asking God to heal a deeply divided country.
It’s about praying for repentance, revival, courage, forgiveness, and truth.
For a few hours, let’s turn down the noise.
Let’s put down the forks…and step away from the political outrage.
Instead, let’s open our Bibles. Get on our knees.
And seek God.
“Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.”
— 1 Corinthians 16:13
We begin Wednesday, September 9 at 7:00 PM (OR Thursday September 10th at 8:00 AM) and break the fast together Thursday, September 10 at 7:00 PM.
Please use wisdom regarding fasting. If you are pregnant, have a medical condition, take medications affected by food intake, have a history of disordered eating, or have other health concerns, talk with a qualified healthcare professional before attempting a food fast. You can also participate through another form of fasting.
I’m looking forward to having you join us!
