How Moonshine, Weed, and Copperhead Road Can Impact Your Life

I need to tell you about a secret.
A secret that can have profound impacts on not only your life, but your children’s. And your children’s children.

Flashback… several week ago.

I was sitting alone on my back porch chilling out…feet kicked up on the firepit, listening to some Country music.

It was the evening before a Father’s day banquet
at my hometown church located a short drive away.

A song came on…and I have a confession to make. I love this song.
Always have…probably always will.

But this time it struck me differently.

It took on a new meaning in my mind.

Have you ever heard something before, or read something before, and then just as crazy as it can be…this time it hits you differently?

That is what happened…
Probably because I was sitting there thinking about getting together with my Dad, and my sons, and thinking about 3 generations of Godly men getting together to celebrate…Godly men.

However, this is where the whiskey and drugs come into the story.

The song in a nutshell goes like this:

John Lee Pettimore is singing the song…and he mentions his name is the same as his Dad’s, and his Dad’s before (His grandpap).

John Lee’s grandpap and dad were moonshine bootleggers. And full transparency here, I am NOT a proponent of violence against law enforcement.
I 110% back the blue!

But, John Lee III’s ancestors may not have been as kind to them in the hollers.

I grew up in Yeager Hollow…and I know…crazy crap sometimes happens in the hills.

Onward…

John Lee III ended up heading to Vietnam.

And as he came back, he had a plan.

He acquired some seeds from Columbia and Mexico…and then headed back to Copperhead Road where his ancestors, for generations made moonshine…and he started a new
entrepreneurial endeavor.
It was sort of like a lemonade stand, but different product.

The cycle continued…
Generation after generation passing down their knowledge from one to the next.

Building habits.

Feeding minds with belief systems.

Helping each other through struggles, and celebrating wins together.

Here is the Moral of the Story…

The actions we take today can be generational.

For better, or worse.

If you want to ensure your Children, or children’s children, are making the
right decisions so they can lead their families well, it starts with You.

And Me.

Every. Single. Day.

Focus on the 4 F’s: Faith, Family, Fitness, and Finances.

While we can choose to teach our kids how to be moonshine bootleggers or how to grow an abundant crop of pot, we will be far better off teaching them the 4 F’s.

Make it a Great Day,
Brandon “From the Hollow” Yeager
