Breakthrough Advertising by Eugene Schwartz – 1966 Original Printing by Prentice-Hall

It’s a bit of a crazy story of how it even came to be. New Years Eve 2021. I came down with Covid and was coughing a bit, so my family sent me downstairs to our basement office.  Having plenty of time to be by myself, I was checking out some Thought Leadership topics and reading some sales and marketing stuff and on a whim, started searching for some copies of Breakthrough Advertising.

The copies on ebay that were selling, were really expensive. And as I later learned, a gentleman by the name of Brian Kurtz purchased the rights from Barbara Schwartz, Gene’s wife. But, there was 1 copy of a book for sale for a Buy It Now price of $499.99 that looked different from all the others.

This one looked older, but still kind of cool. Some digging a little later cause me to realize I was looking at an original copy of the first print in 1966 by Prentice Hall and it appeared to be a in great shape. SOOOO…I bought it.

To this day, I’m still not sure how many copies there may be in the world, but based on the lack of photos of this version, there cannot be too many. Of course, everything is for sale at the right price, but the right price is probably far greater than any of you are thinking. I’m thinking I would part ways with it for $1,000,000. Not sure if I would, but, that sounds about right to me.

Take care.
